Lewis and Clark Expedition
An exciting adventure awaits you! After acquiring the land between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains known as the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, President Thomas Jefferson decides the United States needs to push forward and explore this new land and secure the trading rights along the Mississippi River for American settlers. He sends out his friend, Meriwether Lewis, who is joined by his friend, William Clark, on the greatest land expedition of the country. These two men recruit their team and coin it the "Corps of Discovery." You have been selected to be part of this adventure. Your team sets out on May 14, 1804 from St. Louis, Missouri with a keelboat and two dugouts on the Missouri River.

President Jefferson wants accurate records of the geography, animals, plants, climate, obstacles, and Indian tribes you encounter in the Louisiana Purchase territory. He is also hoping you will find a waterway to the Pacific Ocean for trading and commerce.
