Trail of Tears
There were nearly 125,000 Native Americans living on millions of acres of land in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida at the beginning of the 1830s. This was land their ancestors had occupied and cultivated for generations. By the end of the decade, there were very few natives remaining anywhere in the southeastern United States. What happened to them? You're about to find out.
You will be taking the little over 1000 mile trip along the Trail of Tears like the tribes of the Southeast did...only instead of walking most of the way, you will be doing it using the Internet. You will complete a series of steps to take you along the trail and then decide for yourselves, if you could have survived the Trail of Tears.

“Long time we travel on way to new land. People feel bad when they leave old nation. Women cry and make sad wails. Children cry and many men cry, and all look sad like when friends die, but they say nothing and just put heads down and keep on go towards West. Many days pass and people die very much. We bury close by Trail. –”
